Hello, and welcome to Wander Victoria* with Little Wandering Wren!

In the next month, I hope to show you the delights of my adopted state of Victoria. Which, just in case you were wondering is in South-East Australia. We will go to the beach, we will go out into the bush and where we can, we will take the Crazy Poodle!

Now just before we set off we need to ensure we are fully prepared. I am excited to have several of my blogging friends along for the trip. Hello to Karen, Mary-Anne, Cynthia, Sami, Eileen, Jeanne and well done Margaret for already having your walking shoes on, and of course, a special thank you to Amalia for bringing water and snacks!

If you would like to join us, just leave me a message at the end of the post, or send me an e-mail,  just so that we don’t leave without you tomorrow! We will be Wandering Victoria from A-Z every day except Sundays for the month of April. I hope you will join us!

Be prepared, you never know what we might find!

You see, we do need to be fully prepared as you never know what we might meet on our travels. Victoria might be Australia’s most populated state and our capital city Melbourne has frequently been voted one of the world’s most liveable cities, but when we leave town don’t expect your phone to work and you never know who we might come across! Don’t worry, not all the locals are scary. Check out this cute Koala!

So today is more of a planning meeting to get to know each other. How about we go to brunch and I’ll tell you some more about myself, and you can tell me via the comments, where exactly you’d like to go?!

But first, let’s just stop by at the 2016 Melbourne International Comedy Festival because a funny thing happened on the way to at the Forum Theatre, Melbourne.    Mr Wren and I have a number of tickets spread out over the next few weeks.

Well you’ve gotta laugh haven’t you?

Our first chosen show is true to our British roots, with ‘The Best of the Edinburgh Festival on at the Forum Theatre. There was a Canadian, a British and an Irish comedian and one of them made this observation…

‘in Melbourne all men have beards and everyone eats avocado!’

Gosh, we did giggle at that. It’s so true! My favourite going out meal at the moment is ‘Smashed Avo’ – it kinda suits my personality. Not smashed in terms of drunk as this Little Wren is practically teetotal…

All Australians’ Adore Avocado

Oh no! Smashed in terms of who can be bothered to get a perfectly ripe avocado out of it’s skin so that it looks pretty on the plate? Smashed in terms of scooping it out, crumble in some feta cheese and adorn with some cherry tomatoes and you’re good to go!

So before we set off let’s go and find a good brunch and leave the Bush trip to B tomorrow.  See you soon!

PS: Wander Victoria is an initiative of our Victorian State Government to encourage us to explore the charms of regional Victoria. You can find out more on my previous post here
