Sawasdee Ka from Bangkok

by wrensrambles@gmail.com

Hello, welcome to Little Wandering Wren’s new home on Wordpress. Shush don’t tell anyone but my blog that is the first thing I pack when I head off on my travels. If you have always wanted to see more of the world from the comfort of your world, then you are in the right place.

This year’s travels will take us to explore more of my new homeland, Thailand. Come fly with me!

We’re going to amass some air miles, so strap yourself in tight as we head from North to South of Thailand. We have plans to do some island hopping during the Songkran water festival, prepare to get wet, very wet and then we’ll head to mountainous northern Chiang Mai.

We moved to Bangkok with my husband’s work and are now in our second year. So I will show you my life as a local, well as much of a local Thai as I will ever be!

I have just started an English guide course with the National Museum of Bangkok where I am surrounded by enthusiastic, passionate volunteers who love to share the history of the Kingdom of Thailand. I hope that some of this knowledge will rub off on me and that I can share it, through the stories of my life.

We will travel around Asia as well and would love to take you with us. At the moment Korea and Shanghai are on the cards and further afield there are two trips to my home Kingdom the United one. Well, that was what it called when we left twenty-five years ago!

We have moved here from Melbourne, Australia and just finished with the Australian Open tennis where we have been cheering for Team USA in our tenth year hosting tennis players competing at our Aussie Grand Slam. We’re a bit of a sports-mad family and will be off to Russia for the FIFA World Cup in June 2018.

Introducing the Crazy Poodle

Finally, I should mention there is a small white fluffy Cavoodle dog, known here as the Crazy Poodle. He features highly and remains well looked after in Melbourne by our adult kids. He is non too impressed with our nomadic lifestyle as you can see!

Chocks away let’s launch this blog!
