Introducing Wild Nature Artisan’s Jams, Infusions, and Finishing Salts
Wild Nature Artisan was different from some of the weird and wonderful product review offers that come into Little Wandering Wren. Most go straight in the bin, but this was interesting enough for me to do a little more internet research…
I like to think I’m not easily bought – well at least if I am, by more than an offer of few jars of jam and some teabags!
The Story
I loved the backstory here. Wild Nature Artisan is run by two sisters Dara and Tubtim who just happen to be in the over 50’s age group (mine) and live in Chiang Mai, in the beautiful North of Thailand.
Why are their ages relevant? Because they found their passion, later on in life. I often think as women our true passions can lie hidden in life under a realm of other responsibilities for us to truly flourish at this stage of our lives.
Dara and Tubtim on the sad death of their Father inherited some land from which their Wild Nature dream literally blossomed.
For those of us who know Chiang Mai, we’re already thinking of rolling countryside and a city of exotic temples. Fun things come out of Chiang Mai, it was, after all, Thailand’s centre for Digital Nomads and it always has an air of entrepreneurial excitement.
I read the sisters wanted to create an edible memoir. Woo hoo, I’m not exactly sure what this means, but I guess I’m about to find out. It sounds interesting.
It’s New
Wild Nature Artisan is a start-up and I’m all for supporting new business ventures in today’s topsy turvy world. People who have found a new passion, and managed to achieve anything in Covid days deserve cheering. You go ladies…
Their company works alongside sustainably-minded chefs, baristas, and mixologists to showcase the best of Chiang Mai for culinary enthusiasts. Impressive or what?
Oh go on then, send me your jams!
It’s Organic
I have always been very pro-organic foods and eating as healthily and as naturally as I can. In today’s pandemic world, I’m all about keeping my immune system as strong as possible. Wild Nature Artisan offers organic urban farming with a unique product line. They grow organic herbs, flowers, and fruits of the season at their farm.
A Unique Product Range
I am asked to select from their list of tea infusions, jams, and finishing salts. When I start looking into the product combinations they are unique and interesting.
There offer Bold Companions which pairs mulberry with organic dark chocolate and then there’s Perfect the Perfection jam with strawberry, green peppercorn, and house plum vinegar.
The organic herb salt “Always a good idea “ was another clever name, and they say goes with everything!
Creative names
I have trouble selecting my choices as each has seductive names.
I have a giggle as I send off my request for a Dreamchaser, with a Never-Ending Summer, some Citrus Melodies with a Memory of Kindness. There that should cover just about all of the gifts that I ever want to give.
Great Packaging
The colourful packaging is as attractive and top-notch as the product. I love the design and the story written on each box. The only thing worth mentioning is that I wanted to keep the jars in their original cardboard container because they are so pretty, but it was not sturdy enough after a few days of use.
The Products
The ingredients don’t have far to travel they go straight from the farm into production. Fruit and herbs are harvested all year round, where they transform the freshest of farm produce into small batches of artisan jams, organic infusion, and herb salts. Ready to be placed on shelves and in customer’s hands within weeks, or sometimes days.
Citrus Melodies Artisan Jam 120g
Ingredients: 4-variety oranges, freshly picked basil. Price: 120 THB
The Story: ‘In pursuit of the most delicious orange jam, we found our perfect harmony. The beautiful mountains of Chiang Mai filled with sun guarantee sweet refreshing oranges. With fresh basil picked from our garden, we think this jam is unbeatable.’
We are massive marmalade consumers and we think this jam is pretty good too! We love the melody of citrus which comes through the fresh oranges and tangerine.
We thought the basil was an interesting addition. It was refreshing, with no bitterness present, just the right amount of sweetness for us, and perfect on our morning toast!
Memory of Kindness Artisan Jam 120g
Ingredients: organic rose, lychee, raspberry Price: 120 THB
Gotta admit I chose this for the name! I could see endless opportunities when this would be a perfect gift!
We were split on this! Definitely a girly jam. I loved it. Mr Wren less so, he wanted more oomph and raspberries in his jam. I thought it was delicate and charming. A perfect jam for your morning croissants to bring a happy start to your day.
Never-Ending Summer Organic Herb Salt 65g
Ingredients: Fleur de sel, dill, garlic, black mint, chocolate mint, Japanese mint, Thai mint, lime zest
Price: 210 THB
Beware because of all the herbs you are tempted to sprinkle liberally, but it is more salt than herbs, despite its look. We found it perfect on asparagus, on eggs, and for a tasty vinaigrette dressing with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We have basically left it beside the stove and are using it to jazz up most things we are finding!
Dreamchaser Organic Infusions
Ingredients: Torch ginger, rose petals, jasmine, Logan, stevia,
Price: 270 THB for 15 tea bags
The Story ‘Closing the day peacefully is just as important as starting the day full of energy. This goodnight blend is our wish to you, to give your mind peaceful rest and serenity, as you sink into a wonderful, blissful sleep where dreams are not elusive but always found’
I mean how gorgeous is this? I’m thinking I’m going to order a lifetimes supply! Again the infusions are beautifully packaged. The inner gold foil bag brings a sense of the quality of the product. The tea should steep for 5 minutes for a soft pink brew. This definitely another one to please the ladies I’m sure. I mean who doesn’t want a good night’s sleep?
Fabulous Gifts
I was excited by these boutique organic artisanal products, not only to have a lovely addition to my own pantry but also as a wonderful gift range. I can see myself buying as a perfect and different birthday present for friends who love all things gastronomical.
They would make perfect pressies for family and friends overseas. The Infusions are lightweight to carry and the jams and salts come in small 120g jars allowing the product to remain fresh.
Supports Lanna Wild Bird Rescue conservation
The other reason I was drawn to this company was because of their support of the Lanna Wild Bird Rescue, amongst a range of organic farming and conservation initiatives. The packaging has a red-whiskered bulbul, a songbird that appeals to this little Wren!
THE VERDICT
Love this company and its products!
“From organic urban farming paired with handmade craftsmanship, Wild Nature Artisan produces high-quality products to showcase the best of Chiang Mai’s natural produce“.
I now understand what they mean by an edible memoir. As we enjoy these products, we can almost imagine ourselves at Dara and Tubtim’s Chiang Mai Farm. I can taste how fresh the ingredients are, I love the thought of them being picked and lovingly prepared.
Cheering your work ladies!
